I'm hoping to address my cosplay undertakings here. Whatever benefit you can take from it, please do. I will be posting what I'm doing with my own cosplay plans along with how I am constructing certain costumes.
Rather than try to explain what cosplay is, I will simply direct you to Wikipedia, the informal source (sauce) of EVERYTHING!!
Seeing that I am a poor college student, I don't travel far for conventions (cons) and other events that accept cosplayers. I head to Troy once a year for Genericon, and I take advantage of any events that Upstate New York Cosplay hosts.
Since I don't go to many events, this means that the few outfits that I make every year have to be worth is! Some of my past cosplays have fallen through due to time and money restraints, but I am planning way ahead this year for Genericon and hope to craft at least two costumes for it.
On a nearer date (Aug 14), UNYCosplay is hosting their annual cosplay picnic. And as long as work doesn't eat my Saturday, I am planning to go. I have decided on cosplaying as a Ponyta Gijinka (a humanized version of the Ponyta pokemon). I hope to upload images and plans in next week's post.
There is also the possibility of making a costume for a friend's birthday party. This all depends on the still undecided date of the party. If I have the time I hope to put together a depiction of Homburg Molly from The Looking Glass Wars books. Again, I hope to upload images and plans in next week's post.
Check back for updates! :D
